Enzymatic Cleaning Products and their Benefits

Enzymatic cleaning products are used in our ultrasonic cleaning systems. These detergents, known as the UltraCleanZyme family of enzymatic cleaning products, are a key factor in dissolving and removing all of the blood, mucus and tissue left on endoscopes and fine lumen instruments. With the ultrasonic cleaning machines and the enzymatic cleaning products, medical facilities don’t have to worry about manually scrubbing instruments to ensure they’re pathogen free. No scrubbing is necessary; these enzymatic cleaning products were developed to loosen deposits in just one minute by using powerful enzymes that eliminate harmful proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and mucopolysaccharides.

Our enzymatic cleaning products are also safe to use in tunnel washers, and washer/disinfectors. They can be applied on dental and surgical instruments, and they work on materials such as rubber, plastic, and most metals. Our enzymatic cleaning products are non corrosive and low foaming.

These detergents are effective thanks to three enzymes:

Protease—this enzyme helps to break down and digest proteins, while also dissolving blood, urine and other proteinaceous material.
Amylase—while protease works to break down proteins, amylase breaks down starches and sugars. It also dissolves carbohydrates.
Lipase—of all the enzymes, lipase breaks down fats and oils. It dissolves grease from surfaces.

The UltraCleanZyme products are highly chelated and help to form a barrier around instruments that prevents them from making contact with minerals found in water. Plus, our enzymatic cleaning products are economical for any medical facility to use because they are highly concentrated; meaning only about a ¼ ounce to 1 ounce of solution is needed per gallon of water. A gallon of these detergents can make up to 512 gallons of solution.
